The male gaze was first introduced as a concept by John Berger in the 70s. It theorizes that most of the art throughout history that depicted women was created by men for the pleasure of the male viewer. The Female Gaze was created to challenge that viewer. She may look as though she is just there to be viewed for her beauty, she is actually looking at you. What does she see?

This is a 10" X 10" print of an original acrylic painting created by me and printed on a sturdy matte stock paper specifically for artwork. These prints are a limited edition of 250.
